Remove Start Up Programs In Windows
This guide will outline how to stop programs from starting up when the computer turns on. This can be useful for multiple reasons. For removing fake programs, it may be useful to stop the program from starting up so that you can easily remove the fake program. Please exercise caution when doing this because you can damage your computer if you stop programs from running which the computer needs to operate. You can stop programs from starting up when the computer turns on by using msconfig.exe. For Windows XP, msconfig.exe can be accessed by left clicking on Start, left clicking on run, typing in msconfig.exe, and pressing enter. After opening msconfig.exe, please scroll to the bottom of this guide to learn more about how to use msconfig.exe. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, we have prepared the images below to assist. In order to access msconfig, left click on the Windows Icon and type in msconfig into the search bar. This will bring up msconfig.exe. Left click on it to open the program.
Navigate to the startup tab to see which programs are starting up when the computer turns on. Deselect a program and press OK to remove it from startup.
