System Progressive Protection is an fake application which poses as an antivirus application. Once System Progressive Protection has been installed on the computer, it will block all other programs from running and will provide a error message to the user. When a program attempts to load on the computer, System Progressive Protection will automatically close the program. In doing so, System Progressive Protection makes it harder to remove the program since real antivirus applications get blocked. However, System Progressive Protection can be removed automatically with removal software or manually removed.

We recommend the following removal tool for System Progressive Protection. The tool has received numerous awards including CNET’s Editor’s Choice. The tool can be downloaded below.

Second Option: System Restore

System restore is an excellent option because it will roll back the computer to a previous date. In this case, it can roll back to when the files weren’t hidden on the computer.

File Recovery is an fake application which poses as an computer performance optimization program. Once File Recovery has been installed on the computer, it will hide files on the computer to make the user think that the hard drive has been damaged. After hiding the files, it will provide the user with a fake scan and proceed to bombard the user with warnings about system issues. The files which File Recovery have hidden can be viewed by turning on hidden files.

Once the hidden files are found, it is best to back up the files and set these files back to normal viewing. File Recovery should be removed and the hidden files restore back to regular viewing mode. On a positive note, File Recovery can be removed for free with Malwarebytes Antimalware. Malwarebytes Antimalware can be downloaded from the link below.

“System blocks were not found
This has most likely occurred because of hard disk failure.
This may also lead to a potential loss of data.”

Live Security Platinum is an fake application which poses as an antivirus program. Live Security Platinum is a powerful application is that it closes and blocks all other programs from operating on the computer. Once Live Security Platinum has been installed on the computer, it will conduct a fake scan on the computer and will provide a virus scan result with many infections. Live Security Platinum will also bombard the user with alerts and tell the user that the computer is heavily infected. On a clean computer, Live Security Platinum will still report infections. Live Security Platinum should be removed and replaced with a real antivirus application. Once Live Security Platinum has been replaced, it is recommended to check the computer for spyware and viruses.

Live Security Platinum can pose a threat to data on the computer and should therefore be removed. Live Security Platinum is not a new type of fake application; rather, there are many like Live Security Platinum which have been released in the past.

Cloud AV 2012 is an computer infection which infects the computer and installs a fake antivirus program which provides misleading reports and error messages to the user. The reports will show that the computer is infected with multiple computer virus infections including trojans and spyware. These reports have been auto-generated by the program and may exaggerate the current number of infections in the computer. The program is generally downloaded through a computer virus infection such as a trojan horse which then connects to the internet to download Cloud AV 2012. Cloud AV 2012 will display false reports in order to convince the user to purchase Cloud AV 2012. It will shut down portions of the internet so that the user only has to option to purchase Cloud AV 2012. Cloud AV 2012 is not a Windows utility and should be removed. The program is a new version of OpenCloud Security. The are multiple methods to remove Cloud AV 2012 including using software to remove Cloud AV 2012, performing a system restore, or manually removing Cloud AV 2012.

System Fix is an fake diagnostic program which provides a misleading report on the performance and stability of the user’s computer in order to trick the user into believing that there are performance and stability issues in the computer. System Fix has a design which is similar to diagnostic programs which are from Windows and therefore the program may look legitimate. Some users may believe that System Fix is part of the Windows operating system. However, System Fix is not part of Windows and should be removed. The program enters the computer by being downloaded by a virus which then directs the program to be installed and run on the infected computer. Once installed, it will hide all short cuts in the temp folder of the computer. System Fix shares properties and design with Windows XP Repair.

System Fix will set files on the computer to hidden and will move program shortcuts to the computer temp folder. These files can be recovered by restoring the setting on these files, which we will discuss further below. We recommend removing System Fix in safe mode with networking since the program will likely not load in safe mode, making the remove process easy.

System Fix will set files on the computer to hidden. In order to unhide these files, go to folder options, go to the view tab, and click show hidden files, folders, and drives.
