May 26th, 2011 | No Comments

Windows 7 Recovery is a new fake computer program. Windows 7 Recovery is the same as Windows XP Recovery and Windows Vista Recovery. These three are a new version of Windows Recovery, which, like Windows 7 Recovery, is a fake computer program. The program will display the same issues found from computer to computer since the program is fake. Even if the computer doesn’t have any issues, Windows 7 Recovery will say that there are issues. The user will need to remove Windows 7 Recovery since it can’t be uninstalled. It will generally scare the user by hiding the computer files of the user and then telling the user that the hard drive has failed. Below is an example of a message shown to scare the user about the issue.

However, don’t worry since the files are now hidden. Turn on hidden files and folders to see these files and recover them.

Windows Vista Recovery is a new fake computer program. The program is the same as Windows XP Recovery and Windows 7 Recovery and is a similar version of Windows Recovery, which is also a fake computer program. The program is fake and will not fix anything (if there are any issues). Even if the computer doesn’t have any issues, the program will say that there are issues. The program should be removed since it can’t be uninstalled. It will generally scare the user by hiding the files in the computer and then telling the user that the hard drive has failed. Below is an example.

However, don’t worry since the files are all still there on the computer but are now hidden. Turn on hidden files and folders to see these files. If your computer has been recently infected with Windows Vista Recovery, we recommend attempting a system restore before attempting to manually remove it.

We recommend the following removal tool for Windows Vista Recovery. The tool can be downloaded below.

Hidden Files and Folders
When Windows Vista Recovery infects the computer, it will hide a majority of the user files. In order to unhide these files, go to folder options, go to the view tab, and click show hidden files, folders, and drives. In order to make these hidden files permanently not hidden, go to the properties settings of the file and uncheck hidden.
