How To Stop A Current Process In Windows Task Manager

This guide will help to show how to remove a process in your computer. It is essential to stop certain processes so that you can remove the file association with the process. Windows will not allow you to remove the file without stopping the process because the process is using the file.

Please exercise caution when stopping processes. Removing a process which Windows needs can cause damage to your operating system and loss of all unsaved work.

Step 1 – Go to Windows Task Manager. This can be done by pressing Crtl+Alt+Delete at the same time and then clicking Task Manager or right clicking on the task bar at the bottom of your screen and clicking Task Manager

Step 2 – This will bring up the Task Manager. The task manager has all the tasks currently running in the computer.

Step 3 – Choose the task to remove by clicking on the task and then click End Process to remove the process
